Do you sometimes feel like you are all alone in this world? Even though you may have people all around you, you might feel isolated or like you just don’t fit in? You may feel distant in Spirit…almost to the point where you ask God, “where are you”? Have you ever felt like you could not talk about what you are feeling inside? Do you feel as if you cannot express these emotions because the emotions are too overwhelming? Do you feel as if God is paying attention to the rest of the world, but has forgotten about you?
Guess what? God is right there. He will never leave you. Never. We are the ones who tend to forget that we need to invite God in. We need to reach out to God and ask for His help. Many times when we begin to feel this way, it is not that we are alone, it is that we have slacked off from drawing closer to God. Many times we stop praying, we avoid going to church, and we get “too busy” to just sit in God’s presence. The devil uses many tactics to distract us from drawing near to God. Beware of the many distractions that might have caused you to take your focus off your faith. Each day we must commit to seeking God. It is especially important to seek God when we begin to feel that distance from Him. Dig into your Bible…drop to your knees in prayer…speak to God as you are driving…absorb yourself in His presence. “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you”. James 4:8
Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. HEBREWS 10:22-24
You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 1 JOHN 4:4
God is with us.
