Peace within the storm.

Two hands preserve a green tree against a thunder-storm

What do you tend to do when you feel like you are under attack? How do you react when things don’t go your way?  Most people surge with emotions when life becomes tough. Many times anxiety, worry, stress, tension, and sleeplessness are symptoms of these emotions. Why do we do this? Have we forgotten that we are not alone? Yes, unfortunately, we tend to forget that we have a mighty God to turn to. We have a Savior who is with us at all times. We have the Holy Spirit waiting to guide us. We have help…but we tend to forget to ask for that help. Often times people come to me in a panic…not knowing how to face the trial in front of them. They are overwhelmed with emotion and hopelessness. My heart breaks for them as I listen to the situation. My first question is often, “have you prayed about it?”. Time after time, the look in their eyes, or the tone of their voice gives me the answer. The enemy does everything he can to attack our lives. We must always keep that in mind. The things we face in this life are not impossible situations…if we seek God, and ask for His help. God has given us the Holy Spirit as our guide, and Jesus is with us always. God has given us free will to live as we choose to live. That means we must willingly call on Him in all areas of our lives. Prayer is our line of communication…the knock on the door that God is waiting to open. Don’t forget to take action and ask God to open that door. Jesus will walk through the doors with you…but you must invite Him to come along. Don’t wait for the crisis to happen. Make prayer and relationship part of your daily existence. It is then that you will begin to experience peace…even in the midst of the storm.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.” MATTHEW 7:7-8

“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.” REVELATION 3:20

God is with us.
