Do you ever feel as if you are being led to make a change, but you are hesitant to move forward? We question if we can, we put off thinking about it, and we end up staying right where we are for another day…week…or month. Why is change so hard? Change is facing the unknown. Change is stepping out of the normal that we are used to, and into a different routine. Change is necessary in order to institute growth in our lives. No matter how big or how little the change, it can cause an element of fear to creep into our minds. It is extremely important to pray specifically about the change you are thinking of making. Give God time to guide you in the right direction. Ask God to nudge your spirit, and help you know you are making the right decisions. If you are stuck in a state of unrest, God has probably already given you an indication that change needs to happen. Spend time in prayer with God, and seek the Word of God.
The last three weeks have been a serious time of reflection for me. Those that know me well, know how overloaded my life has been. I love to serve. I have dedicated my life to helping others. I work hard at managing our own business. In addition to that, I work hard at serving our community through my non-profit, Light of Hope. I serve in ministry at my church and I also write words of encouragement from my heart. All of this takes many hours of preparation and dedication. All of this must fit into the priority of being a wife and a mother, taking care of my own family. My own spiritual relationship has to be a priority in order for anything in my life to be effective. I began to realize that I was struggling to grow in my own spiritual walk. I knew it was time to stop for a while…and rest. I disconnected from all distractions of social media, etc. in order to focus on my own journey. It has been refreshing and eye-opening to step away from what was consuming me. My heart has realized that I was striving to meet expectations that were not even there. One of the true passions of my life…is to write. However, my attempt to write words of encouragement 5 days a week, was something that began to wear on me. Being an author is time consuming. It takes close to three hours a day, to pray, prepare and properly write a daily encouragement. I have done this for many years…week after week. It has been a true blessing to be able to have the time and ability to do these writings. However, as God tells us, there is a season for everything.
I have been called to serve in new ways in our community, through partnerships that have been developing. This means I must recognize that things need to change in my life. I have been in prayer about how to restructure my responsibilities. I have heard the gentle whispers of the Holy Spirit. One of the things that I will be readjusting…is my writing schedule. God has been nudging me, and I am listening to His direction. I will be reducing my weekly writing to two times a week. My prayer is that you will continue to read and be encouraged, as well as focus more on your own spiritual journey. I am so grateful for each and every one of you. I have come to know many of my readers personally, and I cherish those relationships. Let us continue to grow in our spiritual walk together. Allow your hearts to hear God’s calling on your lives…and be willing to make the changes necessary to step forward in life. May we all know how much God loves us…and may we truly trust in our Heavenly Father, as we walk through our daily lives. As we all face the seasons of change, know that Jesus is carrying us along. We will be able to look back one day, and see where Jesus gently placed our feet on the solid ground of new beginnings.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path. PROVERBS 3:5-6
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. ISAIAH 41:10
God is with us.
