Health is a big issue in our lives. Some of us are facing serious health issues ourselves. Some of us are walking along side a family member or friend who is struggling…and many are battling for their lives. Each day we all must face our own decisions we make about how we eat, what our environment is like, and how much sleep we get. It’s not easy knowing how to balance a healthy mental, physical, and spiritual life. The key to pressing through all aspects of life…is our spiritual strength. When we build up our spiritual muscles, we can face anything and everything this earthly life has to offer. God is our creator. God is our source of healing…of hope…and our life line. Jesus is our redeemer, our Savior, our comforter, and our helper. No matter what you are facing in your life, you can face it with God…and walk it with Jesus by your side. Many times our human emotions cause us to doubt and wonder where God is in the middle of our despair and pain. If we don’t see physical evidence of ‘help’ and ‘healing’, we become weakened and hopeless. Always keep in mind, this is human emotion. God wants us to seek Him in the midst of difficulty. Jesus is waiting for you to call on Him to help. Our ultimate goal in life is not to achieve things on this earth, but to be received into eternal life when God calls us home. Focus your life…your everything…toward the cross. Build up your spiritual muscles through prayer, surrender, and reading the scriptures. Open your heart up, and allow God to love on you.
My son, pay attention to what I say; listen closely to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to a man’s whole body. Above all else, guard your heart for it is the wellspring of life. PROVERBS 4:20-23
Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. JAMES 5:13-16
