You Have Hope

Discouragement…sadness…and depression are emotions we all go through at some point in our lives. Many times we are feeling these kinds of emotions internally, but are outwardly trying to pretend like we are just fine. These kinds of emotions can be exhausting. These kind of emotions are real, and are necessary at times in our lives. If we did not experience these difficult emotions, we would not know the opposing emotions of joy, happiness, and peace. It is important to recognize your sadness, discouragement, and depression. Something significant has happened to create these feelings. In order to overcome these hard times, we must face the significant circumstance that created these emotions. It is healthy to admit your weakness. It is healthy to express your heart felt struggle. It is critical to release the pain of what you are trying to bury. Don’t hold the emotions in. Allow them to process through you, so they can be faced and dealt with. If we bottle up the real struggle, we continue to allow that pain to fester. This is when the devil finds you weak, and will begin to attack you in subtle ways. It is vital to seek God at these difficult times. You may feel completely isolated from God and the world…but God is right there waiting to guide you and help you. You have hope in God. Ask God to help you battle this sadness. Surrender your life to Jesus, and then allow Jesus to carry you. Ask God to show you who to go to, where to go, and what to do. God will never fail you if you give Him the opportunity. There is a way out of this dark time of hidden emotions. Hope is real. All it takes is your small whisper in prayer to God. Jesus will comfort you and slowly begin to carry you through, lift you up, and deliver you out of the darkness.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. 2 CORINTHIANS 1:3

In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. EPHESIANS 6:16

For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. COLOSSIANS 1:13-14

God is with us.
