Why is it so hard to be honest about what we are going through in our lives? For the most part, people do as much as they can…to hide the truth. Society causes us to attempt to put on our masks each day. We may be asked several times throughout the day, “how are you doing?”; yet, we never really answer with the truth. Most of the time our responses are, “just fine”, or “good, how are you?”. How often do we even stop to hear how another person really is? We cover up our struggles, and make every attempt we can to look our best. This false identity makes up the majority of the world. If we are really honest about life; most of us have some sort of inner struggle we are facing each day. Everyone goes through something difficult at some point in their lives. These times are when we feel alone and isolated. Praise God for the light we are able to see flickering in the distance. This light is the hope we have in Jesus. The most difficult times in our lives, are times of growth and maturity. These times are when we must dig deeper into the Word of God, and open up our hearts to the love of God. God places people and situations in our paths to help us. These are the glimpses of light we need in order to press through. This is why it is so important to share your experiences and do all we can to be honest about our afflictions. The more we open up about our testimony…the more we are able to be that light for someone who is going through similar circumstances. Allow your light to shine for Jesus…so that you may help someone see the hope that lies ahead for them.
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. ISAIAH 40:31
Jesus said: “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in Heaven.” MATTHEW 5:14-16
God is with us.
