Some days feel empty, lost and alone. It may not be a particular situation or difficulty that is causing these emotions, but they are real and we all have them. Often times we are told that focusing on our emotions and feelings is not healthy. But to ignore the true feelings that we have, would be to deny the very existence of humanity in some ways. Yes, we are called to persevere. We are asked to be diligent and persistent in our walk with Christ. We are instructed to look beyond the flesh, and press on, trusting in God whole heartedly. We know this. We do this for the most part. But can we honestly say that there are days….when it is hard to encourage yourself. There are days when you just don’t understand why? There are days when nothing seems to help. Don’t beat yourself for being human. Allow your emotions to flow, but don’t dwell in them. Recognize the down day…as simply that: a day that is difficult. Remind yourself that tomorrow will be different. Reach out and tell someone you are struggling through today, and allow them to help you. Remember, Moses, Paul, and even Jesus had difficult days. Strive to understand that ultimately you are never alone in these days. God is always with us. Jesus walks with us continually. We have hope and encouragement, knowing that faith and trust in God will carry us through anything.
Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The Lord is faithful to all His promises and loving toward all He has made. PSALM 145:13
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. HEBREWS 11:1
God is with us.
