Rest

Navarre,2017

How often do we unplug from the world for a little bit? I am not talking about ignoring work and sitting in front of a television or computer. I am talking about unplugging from all the electronic distractions and influences that cause our minds to be on overload. It is not an easy thing to do these days. Most of us have to be in connection with a computer, internet and social media to conduct work. But there is a great need to take some time and let your mind rest. There is a great need to spend quality time with who and what matters. God is yearning for you to spend some undistracted alone time with Him. Your family deeply desires to have your undivided attention for a while. YOU need a mental break from all the pressure and stress. This last week I unplugged from all the responsibilities, and took the time to prioritize some quiet time with God and my family. There is such restoration in these rest times. It is amazing how much clarity and calmness these special times can bring. Jesus made it a priority to take time away. In fact, we are called to have a Sabbath rest each week. I encourage you to consider scheduling some time in your lives, to rest. Allow yourself the opportunity to come to the Father through prayer and alone time. Let the peace of God, that surpasses all understanding, fill your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7

Jesus says: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” MATTHEW 11:28-30

For anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from His. HEBREWS 4:10

God is with us.
