Who is your GPS?

Be motivated today! How often have you heard that “cheerleader-like” statement in a sermon…workshop…or classroom? At the time…you may have been pumped up with adrenaline to get out and conquer the world! You may have felt “on fire” for the Lord…and want to run out a tell everyone of Jesus’ saving Grace! It is an amazing feeling to be truly motivated to press forward on a new level! Why is it…that somehow the motivation begins to fizzle away…and we are soon left feeling somewhat disappointed in ourselves? We look back at what we set out to do…and realize we are only half way to where we really wanted to be. Our “fire” has dwindled down to a slow burning flame…and we don’t understand why. As humans we tend to place unrealistic expectations on ourselves. We set the goals…but we tend to set them too high…or too soon. The real problem is…we set “self motivation” first. How often do we forget that God is the one in control…even when we are highly motivated to spread the Word of His good news. We cannot expect anything to be obtained if we don’t place God in the drivers seat of our lives. Motivation is an amazing thing…and God desires for us to be motivated to achieve our goals. However, we cannot do it alone. Give God the opportunity each and every day…to be the one driving you in the right directions. Allow God to be your motivator…your GPS…your director…and you can be assured that you will meet those goals and glorify God while you are doing so!

For this God is our God for ever and ever; He will be our guide even to the end. PSALM 48:14

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and His incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of His mighty strength, which He exerted in Christ when He raised him from the dead and seated him at His right hand in the heavenly realms.  EPHESIANS 1:17-19 (Paul’s prayer)

God is with us.
