Peace, not exhaustion.

It is impossible to get exhausted in work for God.  We get exhausted because we try to do God’s work in our own way. As human’s we tend to want to be in control. We strive to do the best we can do in all circumstances. Our hearts want to please God, and we wake up each day with the intentions ‘to make God proud’. I have found myself in this pattern of behavior several times. Why are we trying to earn a gold star with God? God isn’t earned. He has given us everything already! He is in love with every ounce of our being, because He is the one who created us. God knows our heart better than we ever will. We cannot earn God’s love. We cannot do enough deeds to make God happy. God doesn’t want us to be striving towards righteousness for the wrong reasons. We strive towards righteousness because as we do so, we are molding our hearts into more of what God created us to be. We have been given free will to do with our lives, as we please. There is potential within us, that is immeasurable. As we grow and develop in our faith, we tap into our potential, one step at a time. Striving for a deeper understanding of God’s Word, and a closer relationship with Jesus…brings us peace, not exhaustion. As we face each day, remember that our lives are built daily through the mercy and grace we have been given. God is willing to be the one in control of our lives. We just need to remind ourselves daily, to allow God to be our source and our strength.

I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me. PROVERBS 8:17

Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. 1 PETER 1:13

God is with us.
