When there are no words…

Sometimes there are no words to say…to express what we are dealing with inside. We feel depleted of the ability to express the issue at hand. It might simply be too complex or too painful to describe. We know the best thing we can do is to surrender it to God, and to pray about it. But how do we pray when we cannot even come up with the words? It is at these times when God has given us the Holy Spirit to intercede. Simply stop and spend some time in your thoughts…telling God you need His help…and that you just don’t know what to say. Allow this silent time to be a powerful time with God. Our Spirit speaks loud and clear…without words. Trust God to know how to intercede, and trust that He is working on taking care of your situation…in His time.

But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s Will. ROMANS 8:25-27

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. PHILIPPIANS 4:6-7

God is with us.
