How are we lining up?

gods-word-our-foundation

How do you know what God wants you to do? We are constantly faced with decisions in life. Some decisions are small…such as what to eat for a meal. Then, there are those serious life decisions…that leave you hanging on edge…not knowing which step is the right direction. We have all heard the phrase “stepping out in faith,” but what if the step you choose isn’t what is best for your life?  What if you take that step based on selfish desires…and not Biblical principal? This is a subject that can be argued in so many ways. As humans, we will always have ‘self’ to think of…it’s just how God designed us. So when we are trying to figure out the answers to our life directions…we can’t expect to make a decision that isn’t somewhat based on self. The bigger question here is, “how is ‘self’ lining up to the Word of God”? Is the decision you are trying to make…something that will lead you to the cross? Are you looking at the future as a way to become a more faithful and dedicated follower of Christ? Do the values and standards you live by…glorify God on a daily basis? Yes…we must question these truths. We cannot ignore the fact we all struggle in our faith walk. No one is perfect…and we cannot possibly be. Everyone has a chance to live a life to glorify God. We all have an opportunity to step out in faith…and reach for our dreams. Do what your heart desires…as long as the desire gives God the glory. As you pray for direction and seek God’s guidance…allow yourself to cast out the questioning and constant fear of the unknown. Dream, do, and be…who God created you to be. We are all able to have a valuable impact on this world. As long as you follow the Word of God…and bring Glory to His Kingdom…you will know what God wants you to do.

My son, preserve sound judgment and discernment, do not let them out of your sight; they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck. Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble; when you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being snared. PROVERBS 3: 21-26

This is what the Lord says – your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. ISAIAH 48:17

God is with us.
