What do we really need in our lives? How often do we catch ourselves saying “I need” this or that? There are very few “needs” we must have in order to have a very happy, peaceful, and successful life. We “need” God, food, water, shelter, clothing, family, and a job or responsibility to work toward. We tend to “want” out of habit…thinking these “wants” will fill our lives with happiness, peace and success. Keep your life in perspective to the will of God. His greatest desire is to fulfill all of our “wants”, but we must stay humble in our attitude. Helping those who “need” help…is the best way to stay balanced in our own “needs versus wants”. You will be amazed at the blessing you will receive, when you give of yourself, and tend to the needs of others. Not only will you be blessed…you will begin to realize that your own wants become less and less, and you will recognize the peace that comes from helping others.
“I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.'” ACTS 20:35
And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone. Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else. Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 THESSALONIANS 5:14-18
God is with us.
