Contentment. We have heard this word many times in our lives, but how often do we really comprehend the meaning? How content are you in your life? Think about how you perceive your daily routine. Do you wake up each morning thankful? Or, do you immediately begin grumbling within…about the job you have to get ready and go to…the deadlines you have to meet..the bills you have to pay…or the duties you must perform to maintain that day? What if you were on the other end of that spectrum; praying for any job…for opportunities to have deadlines to meet…so you could have things that require bills…so you can perform those duties each day that make maintaining life enjoyable. Be careful how you face each day. We create our own contentment…based on our attitude. Make sure you recognize how blessed you are each day. No matter your circumstances…there are many people praying for what you have.
I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength. PHILIPPIANS 4:11-13
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. COLOSSIANS 3:15
