Place God first.

Psalm 46 10

Do you ever feel as if you want to throw your hands up and say “I quit!”? You are being pulled in so many directions, and you just can’t figure out how to handle everything? God’s Word says, “Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.” ROMANS 14:19 Edification means ‘spiritual, intellectual, or moral improvement’. So…when we take a look at the overwhelming stress we have created in our life…we need to recognize the root of the imbalance. Are we focusing on what brings us peace…or improvement…which is the Word of God? We must consciously make an effort to place God first and foremost in our lives. When He is first, and His Word is our guide, we will grow in peace and edification. Suddenly, you will find yourself saying “I can do this!”.

For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you many glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. ROMANS 15:4-5

Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, not that you have tasted that the Lord is good. 1 PETER 2:1-3

God is with us.
