A humble spirit.

Every day we must determine the steps we are going to take. We develop a routine, and then become confident through the repetitive success of those routines. Each positive step forward gives us encouragement and helps us develop our confidence. Confidence in who we are and what we do…is extremely important. God desires for us to be confident and proud of ourselves. However, sometimes we step over the line….and fall into a pride-filled spirit. There is a difference in being confident in spirit…and being proud in spirit. Confidence relies on trusting God to help us make the right decisions for ourselves. Confidence develops as we pray and surrender our lives to God and His will. Pride comes along, when we fail to place God in the drivers seat…and think we can do the driving ourselves. Be careful not to allow yourself to think you know more than others…to think you are more faith-filled than others…or that you have succeeded more than others. Be confident that you are continually a work in progress…growing in the Spirit and body on a daily basis. You will gain more in life by maintaining a confident…yet HUMBLE spirit…showing love, compassion, and willingness to learn by Jesus’ example.

“For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” LUKE 14:11

When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. PROVERBS 11:2

A man’s pride brings him low, but a man of lowly spirit gains honor. PROVERBS 29:23

God is with us.
