Spiritual maturity is a term we hear quite often. It immediately makes us think of someone who has been studying the Bible for many years…and most likely is of older age. Why do we automatically assume this? People are on all different levels in their faith…at all different ages. Many people have gone through several trials and experiences in their life…sometimes very young…which have inevitably drawn them intimately closer to Jesus. Wisdom through experience holds so much value in itself. In overcoming the experiences, people seek God in a deeper way. They trust in Him completely…leaning on His promises…developing a new strength and perspective on life. The ability to see in this more compassionate perspective, is a spiritual maturity that cannot be learned through study only. Seek to draw closer to God in the midst of your trials. Your experiences will give you that wisdom and maturity to help others in the future.
We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. 2 CORINTHIANS 5:20
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. JAMES 1:2-6
God is with us.
