Are you listening?

listen

Listening. Simply listening. Think about it. How respected do you feel when you are able to just speak what is on your heart…while someone actually just listens? Sometimes it is just that simple. There is an amazing amount of power and help that we can give to someone…if we just take the time to listen. This world is so rushed…so filled with pressure…and time is a constant issue. We all deal with the daily demands our lives are filled with.  We become focused on what our own thoughts are processing, and many times don’t ‘hear’ what is being said around us. Often times we are missing out on the blessing we could be giving someone else. We may be missing out on our own blessing, because we are tuned out and not focused on others. When we help others…when we slow down enough to show someone they are important…we begin to fill our own hearts as well. Listening to the needs of others is simple. It is healing for the one speaking, and a lesson for the one receiving. We are used by God to be His vessel…His messenger. Begin to recognize those times when God is simply wanting you to be still and listen. He will guide you, and His love will pour through you and to the one speaking.

Let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance. PROVERBS 1:5

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. EPHESIANS 4:29

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. 1 THESSALONIANS 5:11

God is with us.
