Encourage one another.

Think beyond self. Today…practice the process of NOT focusing on yourself. Focus on who and what is around you…and SEE the needs. We walk through most of our days with selfish blinders on. We don’t even realize just how self absorbed we are, until we are challenged to spend at least one day focusing on what we usually ignore. There are so many ways we can help others…ways that really don’t require much…just the simple act of noticing. Even if it is simply saying a kind word…it can help someone. All of us have had times in our lives when we felt alone or isolated. Think about those times, and how it made you feel when someone simply acknowledged you in a kind way. When we begin to open up our eyes and hearts…we begin to live the blessing. We are God’s love in the flesh. We are the hands and feet of Jesus. God will use us to meet a need of someone else…even if it’s simple words of encouragement. In turn….our own hearts will be nourished…and our spirits will be filled.

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.                     1 THESSALONIANS 5:11

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such wisdom does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness. JAMES 3:13-18

God is with us.
