It’s ok to say no.

Are you overwhelmed with tasks, responsibilities, and deadlines? Do you feel like you can never get ahead? Just when you think you may have an opportunity to have some extra time…something comes along and fills that time as well. We live in a world of continuous demands. Electronic communication has us connected to people constantly. Because of this connection, the expectation to respond and react has reached an all time level. We are faced with more and more requests to ‘do’. Why are we ‘doing’ so much these days? We cannot keep up with the pace of this world, and maintain a healthy spiritual relationship. God needs our attention. We must consciously seek God, spend time with God, and get to know Jesus on a personal level. You cannot do this if you are constantly on the go…or constantly filling your time with ‘doing’ extra unnecessary tasks. It is ok to say “NO”. It is ok to deny a request to ‘do’ something that will take away from important aspects of your life. Analyze what you are ‘doing’ throughout your days. Are you prioritizing prayer and spiritual fulfillment? It doesn’t take long lengths of time to prioritize God. It takes effort. Are you prioritizing your family over other things? Are you focusing on nurturing your marriage, your children, or your health? These are the really important things in life. Stop ‘doing’ so much extra, and begin to place your energy where it is important. You will begin to find peace, purpose, and spiritual strength…when you begin your day with God as your source of direction.

Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed. PROVERBS 16:3

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and He will come near to you. JAMES 4:7-8

For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. 1 PETER 3:12

God is with us.
