The fear of the unknown. Fear can be crippling. Fear can be hindering. Fear can debilitate us in such a way that we tend to stay safe and stagnant in our present circumstance…instead of stepping forward to the future. As we reflect back on our lives, we can all see where we may have postponed or even missed an opportunity…because we let fear stand in our way. This does not mean we do not use common sense. There are times when we must pay attention to those red flag warnings we feel. As our faith and walk with Jesus strengthens, we are more able to discern the times when we should be aware…or when we are simply not trusting the future. God has so much in store for each one of us. He has given each one of us specific gifts and abilities to use for God’s glory. Sometimes we don’t recognize our own gifts, and when we don’t allow ourselves to trust in that nudge we have from God…we are hindering our blessing. Trust that God knows what He is doing…when you feel that pull in a certain direction. Pray about that ‘feeling’ you are having. If the nudge is still there, and you clearly see it could be a positive step in the right direction…then cast out that fear…and step out in faith. Trust in God and allow Jesus to guide you. You have far more capability within you than you realize. You are a vessel in God’s honor. You are going to be used by God in mighty ways! Allow yourself to see your potential. Don’t walk around with fear blinders on…walk around knowing you are wearing the eyes of our Father, who created you to be the mighty example for Him!
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path. PROVERBS 3:5-6
We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach, if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully. ROMANS 12:6-8
