Live a Life of Balance

How in the world are we supposed to stay balanced in such an imbalanced world? How are we supposed to filter all the world’s influences…and filter our children as well? We cannot live in a box…secluded from society. Yet, in order to avoid all the negative influences…we have to eliminate them right? There is a balance we must realize in all the decisions we make. Yes, we must do the best we can to stay away from things that are obviously not in line with God’s will. This means making conscious choices about what we watch on television…the type of character we choose in our friends…where we go to spend free time…and what outer influences we allow in our home, job, school, or church. Life is all about choices we make. There will always be sin in this world. If we develop a relationship with God…and allow Jesus to be our guide and our example…then we will begin to clearly see the things that we should steer away from. When we walk in the light of God’s truth, God will give you wisdom to know how to handle all situations. We will naturally be surrounded by people who make alternative choices. The key is to be the example for them, and show them love and respect. We have the opportunity to shine the light of Jesus in everything we do. Build your spiritual strength with God each day, and you will be building a foundation for your family and for those you influence on a daily basis.

Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.
1 TIMOTHY 4:16

In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us. TITUS 2:7-8

God is with us.
